Arioso is managed by Clare Lee, a professional violinist
based in Leicestershire. She has organised the music for a diverse
range of functions, venues and clients for a decade.
We can provide you with a string quartet, string trio,
or string duo for your special function. We have a pool of highly
trained professional musicians with many years of experience who come
together to provide quality music for many different types of occasion.
All players have trained at The Royal Academy of Music in London or
one of the other prestigious music colleges.
The String Quartet, always a popular choice, consists
of 2 violins, viola and cello.
The String Trio is violin, viola and cello. This is
a slightly quieter sound than the quartet as there is one player fewer.
People sometimes choose this option if they are tight on space.
The String Duo is violin and cello, again useful if
space is an issue and popular for smaller gatherings.
All players have a wide experience of many different
areas in the music profession. These include professional orchestral
playing with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, The Halle Orchestra,
The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The English String Orchestra,
The English Symphony Orchestra, Scarborough Spa Orchestra and Orchestra
Sinfonica D’ell Emilia Romagna as well as enjoying the smaller
medium of chamber music.
The music we play is light classical or arrangements of more popular
styles. Please see our repertoire pages for more details. We are not
normally able to do requested arrangements, mainly due to copyright
restrictions, but please ask us about this. We also feel we have a
fairly extensive list that, it is to be hoped, already caters for
most tastes.
We cover events such as civil weddings, church weddings,
receptions, wedding breakfasts, civil partnerships, and parties, all
sorts of corporate events, launch parties, christenings, wedding anniversaries,
car showrooms, house showrooms, and birthday celebrations.
Arioso can supply music for anyone requiring music!
We play across the East Midlands in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire,
Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Lincolnshire and Rutland.
We normally wear the usual musicians’ wardrobe of black, so
not clashing with any colours people are wearing - especially at weddings.
Any men playing will either wear a DJ or a black shirt depending on
how formal the occasion. Sometimes we may wear black coupled with
another colour.
So that the players are comfortable, we ideally need
straight backed chairs without arms and enough space to accommodate
us, our stands and the ability to bow properly. Enough light to see
the music is useful too!
If we are required to play outside we may need shelter
from the elements including full sun as this damages our instruments.
Very windy weather can be a problem as can very cold temperatures.
We obviously bring our own instruments, stands and music!
